To lead and deliver high-quality, learner-centred provision in Health and Education. The postholder will manage a team of academic staff, oversee curriculum development, and maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment. This role includes teaching responsibilities and active participation in departmental and college-wide initiatives. Bath College is an inclusive education and training community, providing learning for people with a wide range of abilities from a far-reaching area, from entry level to Level 5 programmes. Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage the delivery, co-ordination and development of a portfolio of courses that enable learners to succeed and progress.
  • Ensuring that the key performance indicators of attendance, achievement, retention and assessment and progress tracking are monitored and actions taken to address issues.
  • Managing the marketing of provision and IAG for students within the subject area ensuring that learners are effectively recruited to courses that best meet their ability and aspirations.
  • Leading, motivating and developing a curriculum who can deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Ensuring that Quality Assurance and improvement mechanisms are effectively implemented, robustly monitored and result in high academic standards and student outcomes.

Lecturer in Health responsibilities

  • To deliver high standards of teaching and learning and to monitor assessment processes in accordance with awarding body requirements.
  • To provide induction, initial assessment, advice and guidance to learners who are undertaking full time programmes of study.
  • To deliver departmental requirements of core and additional programmes, specifically with a clinical health focus.
  • To support the delivery on the T Level Health, BTEC Level 3 Health and Social Care, and HE programmes as required by the demands of the curriculum.
  • Producing schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities that impact on the effectiveness of learning.
  • To co-ordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Teaching qualification, level 5 minimum.
  • Or evidenced experience of working in a capacity that supports learners in industry.
  • GCSE English and mathematics, minimum grade 4 or above or equivalent qualification.
  • Recognised management qualification or willing to undertake this.
  • Experience in a management, leadership or supervisory role.
  • Relevant Qualification in Health.
