Fixed Term Contract (maternity cover until 31/07/2027)

Salary:

  • Unqualified Lecturer Salary (P25-P27 £30,348.15 - £32,186.70)
  • Qualified Lecturer Salary L5 and above (P27-P35 £32,186.70 - £40,015.50)

Salary is full time equivalent.

Purpose Of The Job

To contribute to the Department’s aim to provide high quality learning and teaching, assist in the development, organisation and delivery of the curriculum area of the Department. To ensure that the achievement rates of learners are at or above the level set by the college. To have tutor group responsibility, ensuring the progress, wellbeing and achievement of learners is priority. To contribute to the promotion, quality and growth of the curriculum area.

Key Responsibilities

  • To deliver high standards of teaching and learning and to monitor assessment processes in accordance with awarding body requirements.
  • To provide induction, initial assessment, advice and guidance to learners.
  • To deliver departmental requirements of core and additional programmes including paediatric first aid, safeguarding, food safety and personal tutoring.
  • To support, advise and assist learners during their training.
  • To support the delivery on the new NCFE Level 1, transition to T-Level, Level 3 T-Level and other programmes as required by the demands of the curriculum.
  • Producing schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities that impact on the effectiveness of learning.
  • To co-ordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team.
  • To communicate external examination entry and timetable arrangements to the course team and students.
  • Deal with queries when supervising learners.
  • To work pro-actively to forward the success and vision of the department and the College.
  • Make a positive contribution to the college’s Teaching and Learning Excellence Programme, demonstrating a commitment to raising standards and sharing good practice.
  • Participate in the promotional and marketing aspects of the college.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

  • Relevant Degree in Early Years or Education
  • Teaching Qualification (or willingness to work towards a teaching qualification)
  • GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Grade C or above
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage, and how this is applied in practice
