At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have one overriding purpose to improve people’s lives. This post attracts a welcome payment of 5% of the starting salary for the grade to enable individuals to join our permanent workforce. This is payable upon successful completion of your probationary period and is subject to eligibility criteria.
We are looking for a Care Assistant to join our growing team, based in one of our Community Resource Centres at Cleeve Court Twerton, Bath, working towards being a dementia home of excellence. This role is available at either 18 hours per week or 23.5 hours per week. Please indicate your preferred option on your application. The role involves a rota system, including some weekends and bank holidays, for which enhancements are paid. Cleeve Court offers a supportive atmosphere in Twerton, Bath delivering residential/dementia care, and this is easily accessible via public transport or car.
Responsibilities- Assist residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing.
- Promote resident’s independence, choice, dignity, and respect by delivering the best standards of person-centred care.
- Adhere to and complete accurate and timely records of the care and support provided to residents.
- Providing support to access third party and NHS services.
- Be a strong team player and work on own initiative when needed.
- Promote positive lifestyle choices, offering individuals the opportunity and motivation to achieve their best.
Previous experience of working in care would be an advantage, but a commitment to deliver quality person-centred care is essential and full training will be provided.
