About the Council
At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have one overriding purpose – to improve people’s lives. Would you like a varied and rewarding role, supporting people and working in a team? If so, we would love to hear from you.
About the Team
Our provider services support people who have Learning Disabilities and/or Autism with varying levels of need. This is an opportunity to be part of a service which makes a real difference to the lives of those people and their families. We work across Bath & North East Somerset.
About the Role
We have a particular need for bank staff in our Supported Living Service to cover evenings, weekends, sleep‑in duties and waking nights. Many of the shifts offered attract enhanced rates of pay. A bank role can be a brilliant route into a new carer in care and support, or as a flexible work option.
Essential functions across all of our service would include engaging with a person to support their communication and choices, completing personal care as required, assisting with meals and drinks to the level the person needs support, ensuring medication is taken as directed and supporting each person to live a fulfilled, active life.
A bank role is an excellent way of working flexibly within these services, taking shifts from those offered according to your availability. All support workers are expected to maintain compliance with mandatory training, with full training supplied and hours paid.
We also have bank roles available in our day services (Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm). Please see separate advert for those vacancies.
