This post attracts a welcome payment of 5% of the starting salary for the grade to enable individuals to join our permanent workforce. This is payable upon successful completion of your probationary period and is subject to eligibility criteria.

About the Team: We’re proud of our dynamic and supportive AMHP team within the Adult Social Care directorate. You’ll be joining a group of skilled and knowledgeable professionals, including dedicated "core" hub AMHPs and committed "spoke" AMHPs who contribute regularly to the service. We are looking for an experienced, highly skilled, and innovative Approved Mental Health Professional to lead and support them in their role. We work closely with Health colleagues in a co-located environment, fostering strong partnerships and collaborative practice. Our team culture is built on learning, reflection, and support, where everyone is encouraged to grow and thrive.
About the Role: This is a unique opportunity to lead and inspire a dedicated team of professionals, driving excellence in mental health practice and making a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals across Bath & North-East Somerset. You’ll work alongside the AMHP and Strategic Safeguarding Assurance Lead to:
- Develop and enhance the AMHP service
- Implement national guidance and legislative changes
- Support the Council in fulfilling its statutory duties under the Mental Health Act
- Lead triage of referrals and ensure assessments are proportionate and compliant
- Supervise and support AMHPs in their roles
- Drive innovation and excellence in specialist mental health practice
