The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Specialist Play Leader to lead a small team providing a safe, nurturing environment for primary aged children with SEND on fortnightly Term Time Saturdays, approximately 6 sessions per quarter. Work in some school holidays is also included.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and run play sessions for primary aged children with SEND.
- Lead and support a small team of play leaders.
- Maintain a safe environment, ensuring children are safeguarded.
- Liaise with families for enquiries and allocate places on a termly basis.
- Plan and resource sessions with a small budget, ensuring staff ratios in place.
- Communicate with parents/carers and work alongside the Short Breaks Co‑ordinator regarding holiday bookings.
- Deliver engaging, positive play sessions, providing respite for parents.
Qualifications
- Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Playwork, Education, or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children with SEND.
- Enhanced DBS Certificate and Child Protection Training Level 2 or higher (required).
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.
- Good understanding of playwork.
Working Hours & Pay
- 8 hours/week during term time only; approximately 312 hours per year plus 30 days Holiday Play Scheme (Easter, Summer and October school holidays).
- Currently face-to-face only, every fortnight.
- Location Bath, BA2; fixed term, subject to extension.
