Bath Festivals organises The Bath Festival, (May), Bath Children’s Literature Festival (Sept/Oct).

MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT (PART TIME)

1.5 days per week (7.5 hours) with a requirement for additional hours around the annual audit and Festival times (normally June and October).

To start with immediate effect

Reporting to: Chief Executive and Finance Trustee

Necessary qualifications / experience

  • Used to undertaking all tasks and functions and experience of XERO Essential
  • Understanding of not-for-profit/charitable/cultural sectors is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Maintain weekly cashflow forecast
  • Prepare payment runs and payments in line with the cashflow forecast
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns (residual VAT) and deal with any VAT related issues including any correspondence required with HMRC
  • Prepare quarterly management accounts from XERO TB and update forecast
  • Maintain and monitor annual budgets for festivals provided by the CEO and Festival Directors. Update with actual costs
  • Prepare quarterly financial reports for the Board
  • Check contracts for any financial commitments
  • Submit claims to grant-aid bodies and local authority and ensure that accurate financial information is supplied to these bodies as requested
  • Prepare end-of-year accounts & liaise with auditors for statutory audit
  • Involvement with other areas of the business, including possible attendance at Board, Finance Group or Patrons Committee meetings as required
  • Purchase and sales ledger control – all aspects from raising & entering invoices to credit control and Payments
  • Prepare and submit Gift Aid returns
  • HR – staff offer letters / contracts. (No staff currently, just contractors)
  • Review Reports supplied by the Box Office on ticket sales
  • Calculate third party event settlements
  • Maintain restricted fund records
  • XERO reconciliation and reporting to budget holders
  • Maintaining accurate records for membership schemes
  • Maintain Patron/members list on Mailchimp, sending reminders for membership renewal and chasing where necessary
