Fixed Term contract until the end of the academic year, 37 hours per week. The post is to contribute to the Department’s aim to provide high quality learning and assist in the development, organisation and delivery of the curriculum area of the Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To deliver high standards of teaching and learning and to monitor assessment processes in accordance with awarding body requirements.
  • To deliver GCSE maths and Functional Skills to 16-18 learners and adults (daytime and/or evening).
  • To produce sequencing documents, lesson and assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities that impact on the effectiveness of learning.
  • To help co-ordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team.
  • To communicate assessment and timetable arrangements to the course team and students.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

  • A teaching qualification.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the GCSE maths syllabus.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Functional Skills maths syllabus.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of diverse strategies for the teaching, learning and assessment of maths skills.
