We are seeking an experienced and passionate Specialist Teaching Assistant Lead for Apprenticeships to lead the development, quality, and growth of our Specialist Teaching Assistant (STA) apprenticeship provision. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled professional with strong SEND and learning support expertise, who is qualified to Level 7 or can demonstrate substantial and relevant experience, to shape and lead a high‑quality apprenticeship programme that makes a meaningful difference to learners, employers and the wider education sector.

About The Role: As Specialist Teaching Assistant Lead, you will have strategic and operational responsibility for the development, delivery, quality assurance, and growth of the Specialist Teaching Assistant apprenticeship programme. You will play a key role in ensuring that the programme reflects best practice in SEND, learning support, inclusion, and apprentice outcomes. Working closely with employers, internal teams, and external partners, you will ensure the programme meets apprenticeship standards, responds to sector needs, and delivers an excellent experience for apprentices and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development and continual improvement of the Specialist Teaching Assistant apprenticeship programme in line with apprenticeship standards and sector expectations.
- Shape the strategic direction and growth of the programme, ensuring it remains responsive to employer needs, SEND priorities and workforce development demands.
- Work strategically with partner colleges, training providers and other education organisations to co‑develop, share and strengthen high‑quality across all aspects of this apprenticeship, maximising reach, consistency and impact across the sector.
- Embed inclusive practice, SEND expertise and learning support best practice across all aspects of programme delivery.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
- Educated to Level 7 (Master’s level) or equivalent, or able to demonstrate substantial and relevant professional experience at a senior level.
- Significant experience within SEND, learning support or inclusive education, ideally within FE, schools or related education settings.
