Compensation: £32,187 - £40,016 / year

Description: Permanent contract, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. 1 Full Time position available and 1 Full Time Maternity cover position available. Qualified Lecturer Salary L5 and above (P27-P35 £32,186.70 - £40,015.50). Interview date - TBC.

The post holder will be responsible for liaising with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that high quality support is provided to learners, in line with their EHCP, within our Foundation Department at our City Centre Campus to enable our learners to follow their aspirations. Key Responsibilities:

  • To coordinate the delivery of support within one or more given curriculum area/s in liaison with curriculum colleagues, learning support and Managers.
  • To be the single point of contact for identified learners (and their parents/carers, SEND Practitioners and other stakeholders) who have an EHCP and/or other support needs in the curriculum area/s.
  • Identify learners from a range of sources including the consultation process with the Local Authority, declaration by learners before, during or after enrolment, initial assessment, reports, verbal information and observation as to who requires support in the area.
  • To participate in the learner journey offering support to students and prospective students, which will include attending open events, taking part in the consultation process with Local Authorities, assisting at interview, agreeing support plans, and contributing to induction, tutorial, reports, parent’s evenings, assessment, recording and reviewing processes in accordance with the College regulations.
  • To attend College interviews with prospective learners and chair Annual EHCP review meetings as necessary.
  • To contribute to the estimation of the type and amount of support the learners require and complete the required paperwork.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

  • PGCE, Cert Ed, DTTLs or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of issues relating to learners with a range of support needs.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of exam access arrangements.
