We are hiring two Lecturer positions at Bath College (SOC - Social Sciences Team). The role is on a Permanent contract, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
Position details:
- Location: Bath, England.

- Reporting to: Navodya Weerasinghe.
- Employment type: Permanent – Full Time.
- Salary ranges (pay level depends on qualification):
- Unqualified Lecturer: £30,348.15 – £32,186.70 (P25‑P27).
- Qualified Lecturer (L5 and above): £32,186.70 – £40,015.50 (P27‑P35).
- Overall compensation: £30,348 – £40,016 per year.

Purpose of the Job: To contribute to the Department’s aim to provide collaborative and exciting high‑quality teaching and learning, and to assist in the development, organisation and delivery of the curriculum area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high standards of teaching and learning, and monitor assessment processes in accordance with awarding body requirements.
- Meet departmental requirements of core and additional programmes, including personal development curriculum, enrichment activities, and tutor support.
- Deliver on programmes in FE, HE, T Levels and Adult Learning as required by the demands of the curriculum.
- Produce schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities that influence the effectiveness of learning.
- Coordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team.
- Communicate external examination entry and timetable arrangements to the course team and students.
- Work proactively towards the development of new programmes and the improvement of courses within the curriculum area, enabling growth and protecting quality of provision.
- Align work with the success and vision of the department and the College.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
- Relevant degree in Criminology, Law or a related subject.
- Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards a Level 5 teacher qualification).
- GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Grade C or above.
- Strong e‑literacy and competence in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams.
- Commitment to fulfilling quality assurance requirements of awarding bodies and the College.
- Evidence of delivering good to outstanding learning experiences.
