Fixed term contract, maternity cover until 31 July 2027, 37 hours per week.

Salary ranges:

  • Unqualified Lecturer £30,348.15 – £32,186.70.
  • Qualified Lecturer £32,186.70 – £40,015.50.

Purpose of the Job

To contribute to the Department’s aim to provide collaborative and exciting high‑quality teaching and learning. To assist in the development, organisation and delivery of the curriculum area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high standards of teaching and learning and monitor assessment processes in accordance with awarding body requirements.
  • Deliver departmental requirements of core and additional programmes including personal development curriculum, enrichment activities and tutor support.
  • Deliver in the FE, HE, T Levels and Adult Learning business area as required by the demands of the curriculum.
  • Produce schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities impacting learning effectiveness.
  • Co‑coordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team.
  • Communicate external examination entry and timetable arrangements to the course team and students.
  • Work proactively towards the development of new programmes and the improvement of courses within Business, enabling growth and protecting quality of provision.
  • Work pro‑actively to forward the success and vision of the department and the College.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Relevant degree in Business or a related subject.
  • Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification).
  • GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Grade C or above.
  • Demonstrate e‑literacy and competence in using Microsoft Office Suite including Teams.
  • Understanding and commitment to fulfilling quality assurance requirements of awarding bodies and the College.
  • Evidence of delivering good to outstanding learning experiences.
