Description
Permanent contract, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Unqualified Lecturer pay band – £30,348 – £32,186. Qualified Lecturer pay band – £30,348 – £40,015. ‘Competitive salary for the right candidate’.

To work with the Head of Apprenticeships and to deliver a high-quality hospitality curriculum including classroom/workshop theory and practical teaching. This role will include on-site (employer based) assessments and reviews of apprentices, that meet Bath College quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • To deliver high standards of teaching and learning and to monitor assessment processes in accordance with examination requirements.
  • To deliver hospitality lessons and work programmes using appropriate teaching methods.
  • Producing schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities that impact on the effectiveness of learning.
  • Plan and deliver specialist sessions in acting using appropriate teaching methods whilst embedding the promotion of diversity within the hospitality industry and the College.
  • To co-ordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team.
  • To work pro-actively to forward the success and vision of the department.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Qualified to at least a level 3 standard in a Culinary discipline or relevant industry experience
  • GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above
  • Food safety level 3
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to fulfilling quality assurance requirements of awarding bodies and the College.
  • Demonstrate broad knowledge of issues within the FE Sector.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of City & Guilds and BTEC quality assurance processes.
  • Knowledge and expertise in building relationships with local hospitality and tourism industries and networks.
