An exciting opportunity has emerged to join our established Art and Design team to deliver a range of Level 1 to Level 3 qualifications. Bath College is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic lecturer with proven creative sector experience to join us in our journey to deliver high quality teaching, learning and assessment to young people.

We are looking for someone that has knowledge and skills relevant to Art and Design to support our students in their chosen career path, or progression onto higher education and training. Bath College works in collaboration with a network of local sector professionals and practitioners to provide exciting opportunities for adults and young people, focusing on the development of key employability skills to ensure successful careers in the creative sector.
You will need to possess excellent communication skills, demonstrate proven experience of delivering good or outstanding learning experiences, striving to provide creative and innovative approaches to teaching, learning and assessment. You should demonstrate a good understanding of software linked to digital creation while having relevant practical skills. Adopting an innovative approach to supporting teaching, learning and assessment, you should be capable of providing highly specialist teaching across photography, whilst being proficient in the use of the Adobe Suite and InDesign as well as experience of using a darkroom.
You will also be responsible for reviewing progress, providing pastoral care, promoting employer engagement and the reputation of the College to aid further growth of provision. Key Responsibilities
- To deliver high standards of teaching and learning and to monitor assessment processes in accordance with awarding body requirements.
- To deliver departmental requirements of core modules in line with the UAL specification.
- To support the delivery across levels 1, 2 and 3 across a range of disciplines within Art and Design against the UAL specifications.
- Be ready to deliver via a blended learning approach i.e. face-to-face and online (remote delivery via Microsoft Teams).
- To have the skillset and experience to lead lessons using the Adobe suite.
- Producing sequenced schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities that impact on the effectiveness of learning ensuring Ofsted Readiness.
- To co-ordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Relevant Degree in Art and Design.
- Teaching Qualification and/or experience of working in Further Education.
- GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Grade C or above.
- Good experience of working in photography with the use of the Adobe Suite.
- Experience of using a black and white darkroom and analogue processes in photography.
- Experience of using a photography studio, including effective lighting to complete shoots.
