The Director of Quality will be responsible for the college's quality improvement and assurance framework, including readiness for inspection to ensure the college meets its strategic performance indicators. The successful candidate, through strategic leadership and collaboration with curriculum management teams, will create a culture of continuous improvement. The Director of Quality will be a member of the Corporate Leadership Group and will strategically lead the quality cycle and associated approaches, for all funding streams, to ensure that all learners and apprentices access a high-quality education experience, improve performance outcomes and realise the college’s ambition of ‘real skills, real futures’. The successful candidate will have:
- Exceptionally high expectations of both staff and learners with a desire to continually improve the quality of education.
- Strong people management and highly effective communication skills.
- Excellent understanding of key performance outcomes including achievement, value added, wider performance measures and possess strong analytical skills.
- An in-depth knowledge of teaching, learning and assessment practice and pedagogy.
- An excellent understanding of inspection practice and the renewed inspection framework.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience in senior roles.
- Cert.Ed./PGCE or equivalent teacher training qualification.
- At least 3 years' experience in teaching and training related roles.
- At least 3 years' experience in Quality and/or Improving Teaching and Learning related roles.
- Experience of successfully raising standards, improving the quality of provision and/or coaching and developing staff.
