Work in Bath Building Society and play a key role in driving the growth of our savings business. As Business Development Manager, you will lead the acquisition of new savings business, focusing on Trusts and Designated Client Accounts, while delivering a high‑quality service to our intermediary partners.
Role
You will act as the key point of contact for brokers, promoting our specialist savings proposition and tailoring it to individual needs. You will develop new relationships and service existing intermediary connections to strengthen the Society’s reputation and attract business from the local and surrounding marketplace. You will also represent the Society through digital platforms and local networking.
Responsibilities
- Lead the acquisition of new savings business with particular focus on Trusts and Designated Client Accounts.
- Provide high‑quality service to brokers, acting as their key point of contact and promoting the Society’s specialist proposition while tailoring it to their individual needs.
- Service existing and build new intermediary relationships to develop the Society’s reputation and attract business from the local and surrounding marketplace.
- Provide expert knowledge on the savings range and ensure applications are fully compliant within risk requirements.
- Promote the Society through a variety of channels, including digital solutions such as LinkedIn, local networking events and business meetings.
- Build and maintain strong intermediary connections, focusing on deepening relationships and delivering savings attraction and repeat business.
- Develop and support the delivery of appropriate growth strategies to achieve agreed annual savings benchmarks at an acceptable cost to the Society, with particular emphasis on Trusts and Designated Client Accounts.
- Act as a key point of contact for broker enquiries, with a strong focus on expert knowledge and customer satisfaction.
- Work with partners to ensure the quality of savings applications submitted is of a high standard.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and ways to grow the business.
- Assist the Marketing team in the development of appropriate marketing communications and collateral for intermediary channels.
- Support the development and motivation of the Savings Operations team to deliver excellent standards of introducer and customer experience.
- Ensure complaints are logged and managed effectively, with clear communication to all relevant stakeholders.
- Manage recognised sourcing sites to ensure information is accurate, up to date and regularly audited, with support where necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience managing and building effective third‑party relationships.
- An established network of introducers (such as solicitors and accountants) within Bath and the surrounding area, ideally with pre‑existing named connections.
- Demonstrable experience of attracting new business quickly and delivering against agreed benchmarks.
- Deep understanding of the savings market, particularly Trusts and Designated Client Accounts.

- IT competent, with experience of Microsoft Office and preferably Sopra and Laserfiche.
