Overview
In this role you provide generalist advice and ongoing casework on welfare benefits, housing and energy, plus non-monetary debt guidance. You work within the Community Advice Team to deliver holistic support and advocate for clients where appropriate. You collaborate with local partners to reduce barriers and empower residents to resolve problems. You will help clients understand rights, encourage action, and contribute to a trusted community service with a focus on impact and resilience.
Responsibilities
- Provide generalist advice and ongoing casework on welfare benefits, housing and energy
- Offer non-monetary debt advice focusing on priority debts and budgeting
- Help clients understand rights and responsibilities and explore problems in depth
- Encourage clients to take responsibility for completing actions to resolve issues
- Take ownership of cases and advocate on behalf of clients when appropriate
- Work in partnership with Feeding Britain and The Genesis Trust and other BANES partners
- Ensure clients receive a high-quality, holistic service that removes financial and psychological barriers
- Deliver advice through outreach as part of the Community Advice Team
