Youth Connect South West is a young people\’s charity working in Bath and North East Somerset and the surrounding area. We support young people to enjoy today, prepare for tomorrow and become the people they want to be.
We are seeking two dedicated and passionate Senior Inclusive Learning Tutor to join our Alternative Education Team. You will work with young people aged 16-25 with SEND who cannot access mainstream education, providing lessons in English or Mathematics and supporting curriculum planning. This role involves delivering high-quality teaching across all Inclusive learning courses, modelling best practices in pedagogy, lesson planning, and classroom management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support to students with special educational needs (SEN)
- Collaborate with the Team Leader and other SILTs to develop and refine the curriculum and oversee exam arrangements
- Line manage Inclusive Learning Tutors, providing mentoring, regular supervision, and professional development to enhance teaching quality
- Lead, support, and contribute to curriculum development, innovative teaching strategies, and the embedding of English and Maths within practical learning sessions
- Monitor student progress, implement interventions for struggling learners, and champion inclusive education practices to support the academic and personal development of all young people
Qualifications and Experience:
- Level 7 PGCE or another teaching qualification (DTTLS or DET)
- Safeguarding training and experience in addressing safeguarding concerns in line with agreed procedures and protocols
- Experience in teaching subject specialism
- Experience in supporting and managing other staff members
- Proven track record in curriculum development and implementation
- Experience in supporting students with special educational needs
