At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have one overriding purpose – to improve people's lives. We are looking to recruit a Referral and Information Assistant on a part time basis covering Mondays and Fridays, to join our Children’s Social Care Triage Team.

About the role: This post holder will make an initial judgement about the appropriateness and urgency of any requests for service received by Children’s Social Care and signpost to other services as appropriate.

About you: We seek applicants with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, who have a friendly, patient and confident approach with colleagues, other professionals and members of the public who may be distressed or anxious. Previous knowledge or experience within safeguarding would be beneficial. You will be able to evidence that you have excellent IT skills and have the ability to quickly learn new software and systems. Candidates will need to show how they work well under pressure, with an ability to make decisions and the confidence to seek advice where appropriate to do so. In addition to all these competencies, it is essential for you to be flexible in your approach to meet the requirements of a busy team. You will have an informed and professional manner when dealing with customers and clients, and process confidential and sensitive information in line with corporate and national guidelines.
