The Role
We are seeking a Business Analyst to join our growing team and play a key role in delivering data-driven insights and supporting strategic decision-making across the Council. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, analyse processes, and identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
A focus of this role will be supporting Parking Services, a high-profile and high-revenue area of the Council. You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of robust reconciliation processes to ensure income is accurately tracked and reported, meeting both internal audit standards and external regulatory requirements. This includes working with finance, IT, and operational teams to streamline data flows, identify discrepancies, and implement improvements that enhance transparency and accountability.
You will also contribute to the design and delivery of performance dashboards, support service and performance reviews and feedback, and help shape digital transformation initiatives that improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: Demonstrable experience in business and statistical analysis, including requirements gathering, leveraging data and insights, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement. Experience in public sector or local government is desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies, data interpretation, data manipulation and digital transformation principles.
- Skills: Excellent analytical, communication, project management and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in tools such as Excel is required, with experience of Power BI being an advantage.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Innovation: A proactive mindset with the ability to challenge existing processes and contribute to continuous improvement and integration initiatives.

Work Environment
This role offers the flexibility of blended working, with time split between home and our award-winning Civic Centre in Keynsham, conveniently located between Bath and Bristol. Hot desking options are also available at the Guildhall in Bath.
