Safeguarding and HR Admin Support (Fixed Term 12 month Contract) 24 hours per week. Bath Abbey is seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Safeguarding & HR Administrator to support the delivery of key safeguarding and safer recruitment processes. This new, part-time (24 hours per week), hybrid role is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract and reports to the HR Adviser.
The postholder will play a central role in ensuring the Abbey meets national safeguarding guidelines through the effective coordination of Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks, safer recruitment procedures, and the monitoring of safeguarding training for staff and volunteers. You will act as the main point of contact for safeguarding procedures, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance is consistently upheld.
Working closely with colleagues, volunteers, and external partners, you will support a smooth onboarding and compliance process across the organisation. The role includes responsibility for all associated administration, including data entry, scanning, and the secure storage and archiving of sensitive records. You will also monitor compliance using Excel, liaise with Thirty: One Eight for DBS processing, and support the use of the Better Impact volunteer management system. Occasional flexibility in working hours may be required.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and methodical individual to contribute to the safe and effective operation of Bath Abbey. You will need to have a right to work in the UK, complete our safer recruitment process and be required to complete an enhanced DBS check for this role.
