The Role: We’re seeking a Senior Business Development & Marketing Manager to join our busy BDM team. The successful candidate will bring a broad marketing and business development background within a law firm environment, operating at manager or senior manager level. You will understand how to externalise and add commercial value to our leading legal expertise, and recognise the importance of high-quality client and market intelligence in maintaining our position as thought leaders. You will have a strong understanding of Purpose & Impact and how this can be effectively communicated to relevant client groups. You will also appreciate the relationship between internal and external communications, with the expertise to keep key channels for both relevant, engaging and up to date. Experience of advising, working with and reporting to senior stakeholders is essential, alongside a track record of delivering key products and services that drive revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work alongside the BDMD and wider BDM team to deliver the BDM strategy to our key stakeholders.
- Work alongside the BDMD to deliver key strategic projects identified to increase revenue, e.g. new client type and sector focus initiatives.
- Be responsible for driving the development of our key internal and external communications channels including the new website, the Beat and While You Were Working.
- Work with key stakeholders to deliver our annual Impact Report.
- Be a key member of the Climate and Nature Group, P&I Board and EDI focus groups to ensure consistency of activity and output across these key areas of the business.
- Work with partners and other senior stakeholders to shape and deliver business development and marketing plans for priority practices, sectors and client groups, with a clear focus on profile, pipeline and revenue growth.
- Play a key role in supporting the BDM team with development of the firm Key Client Programme, including partner-led account planning and client growth objectives at team level.
- Lead the development and delivery of integrated business development and marketing campaigns, working with partners and colleagues across the firm to turn market insight into targeted activity and commercial opportunities.
- Act as a strategic adviser to partners and senior colleagues on business development and marketing priorities, including profile-raising activity, market positioning, cross-selling opportunities and plans for growth.
- Work alongside the BDMD to deliver client satisfaction projects to measure our impact in the market and ways in which we can be better.
- Use market intelligence to identify hot topics that will affect our clients and support the creation of campaigns to inform and educate our clients.
- Develop and manage our awards strategy to further promote the work that we do and the Bates Wells brand.
