Bates & Bradshaw are recruiting on behalf of a major Construction & Maintenance company in the Hull area who operate as one of the leading building, repairs, and maintenance contractors. They are presently employing around 500 people and have a turnover of £50 million and they have some ambitious plans in place to grow this again over the coming years.

Purpose of the Role

To provide professional operational and performance management of all internal operational staff and external subcontractors employed by the company. Responsible for ensuring all work(s) are completed and comply with BS7671 18th IEE along with current industry and legislation standards, Company Policies & Procedures and key performance targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with BS7671 18th IEE and Building Control Submission.
  • Survey and quotation of works, domestic, commercial and industrial areas including street lighting.
  • Planning and scheduling of works ranging from minor domestic installations to commercial electrical schemes, repairs and maintenance including Emergency Lighting testing and repairs.
  • NICEIC Approved Contractor Qualifying Supervisor Role and associated duties.
  • Preparing detailed Specifications, Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Preparing Quotations and assisting with Tender documentation and submissions.
  • Responsible for the organisation and deployment of staff including subcontractors.
  • Maintaining detailed, accurate written and electronic records of all work.
  • Responsible for ensuring works are delivered on target and within budget.
  • Responsible for carrying out Health & Safety Inspections and Audits.
  • Responsible for communicating effectively with internal staff, operatives, contractors and clients.
  • To provide and achieve the highest levels of performance, profitability and customer care.

Requirements

  • Previous Supervisory experience within an Electrical Contracting and or Electrical Maintenance environment essential.
  • 18th IEE Qualified is desirable.
  • City & Guild 2391 / 2394 Inspection & Testing Qualified.
  • Time served apprentice trained with a minimum 10 years’ experience in electrical and contracting environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing work environments.
