My client is located in Howden and they are a leading manufacturing business who supply products across the UK. This company has recently gone through a large expansion programme and now have the need to recruit a Stores / Facilities Manager.
The Role: To manage and maintain stock levels of all woodworking machinery spares and to support the Maintenance team with general repairs and site maintenance.
Main Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility for setting up an internal stores management system, identifying and cataloguing all spares, managing the booking in/out of parts and ordering stock.
- Review and manage usages of spare parts, ensuring stock always meets minimum levels.
- Plan orders with supplier lead times in mind to ensure timely delivery of parts.
- Liaising with suppliers and contractors to place orders and schedule works.
- Carry out ad hoc deliveries and collections to and from suppliers as requested by management.
- Key liaison between maintenance and facilities teams, acting as first responder to issues and escalating to management, as required.
- Support maintenance department with any reasonable requests.
- Assist maintenance team with planned preventative maintenance.
- Prioritising of urgent requests.
- Carry out routine internal and statutory inspections.
- Project a positive image of Wren and the department always.
- Adhere to stated policies and procedures regarding health and safety in the workplace.
- Adhere to procedures regarding the proper use and care of equipment and materials associated with the role.
- Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge to effectively perform the role.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, including Excel.
- Willingness to learn.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of wood working machinery parts.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Initiative and strong decision-making abilities.
An ideal candidate will have worked in a fast-paced FMCG environment ideally a wood-based industry however consideration will be given to candidates who can demonstrate the skills and knowledge for this exciting new position.
