We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head Brewer at Batemans Brewery – an award winning, Independent Family Brewery where brewing quality beer is at the heart of everything we do.
In addition to an attractive salary, the package also includes a 3 bedroom Brewery Riverside Cottage.
We are located in beautiful Lincolnshire, near the sea, where life is a little more relaxed.
Batemans was established 150 years ago and is fiercely 100% independent. It has 50 of its own pubs and 350 Free Trade Accounts. Come join our team and be part of our exciting plans for the future!
Key Responsibilities:
Managing an experienced brewhouse team of 6
Brewing a range of beers of high quality cask and bottled beers, from raw material selection and sourcing, through to conditioning and packaging
Recipe formulation and brewing of innovative ‘one off beers’
Effective utilisation of the Laboratory
Introduce new packaging formats; kegs and cans
Production planning
Boiler, Refrigeration, Utilities, Trade Effluent management
External Accreditation & certification such as SALSA
Health & Safety coordinator for the Brewery
Sustainability
Experience:
Relevant qualifications (degree preferred), IBD qualifications or equivalent experience
Management experience
Experience in brewing and handling, cask and keg beers
Laboratory experience
Budgetary control
Worked for larger and smaller operations
