About us
BATA was established as a farmers' cooperative in 1894 at Brandsby, North Yorkshire, 10 miles north of York. Today we are still an agricultural supply cooperative with 4,000 share members. We offer a wide range of products, including bulk and bagged animal feeds, pet foods, heating oil, LPG, timber, fencing, horse rugs, seeds or fertiliser, to name just a few.
About the role
The Fuel Co-Ordinator role is to handle incoming customer queries and provide price quotes on a range of fuels and fuel products over the phone to domestic and commercial clients. You will process orders, co-ordinate deliveries and manage customer accounts, building strong customer relationships and trust in a highly dynamic environment.
Days of work: Tuesday - Saturday
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week between 8.30am and 5pm with 1 hour unpaid lunch break
Key Responsibilities:
- Answering Inquiries: Address incoming calls promptly, answering questions regarding fuel types, availability and current market pricing.
- Selling fuel products: Negotiating fuel prices and closing sales over the phone.
- Processing Orders: Accurately record customer order details, delivery instructions and payment details into the company system.
- Logistics Co-ordination: Liaise with transport to ensure that customers receive timely deliveries in line with their needs.
- Managing Accounts: Update customer account details, record transaction notes and manage a sales pipeline.
- Reporting Information: To, and liaising with, external bodies including HMRC and HSE.
- Customer Retention: Make outbound calls to existing and new customers tracking account performance and identifying new opportunities to chase outstanding payments.
- Customer Focus: Understand their needs and offer tailored solutions to build trust and satisfaction.
- Problem Resolution: To take ownership of customer issues and follow things through until a resolution is found.
- Market Awareness: Stay informed about fluctuating fuel prices and industry trends to give accurate quotes and advice.
