Monday to Friday, plus overtime when required, inclusive of a 1 hour unpaid lunch break, 40 hours per week, with occasional cover required outside these hours depending on business needs.

About us: BATA was established as a farmers' cooperative in 1894 at Brandsby, North Yorkshire, 10 miles north of York. Today we are still an agricultural supply cooperative with 4,000 share members. We offer a wide range of products, including bulk and bagged animal feeds, pet foods, heating oil, LPG, timber, fencing, horse rugs, seeds or fertiliser, to name just a few.
Job Purpose: Our Heating engineers service a wide range of customers across the North and East of Yorkshire, based from our Amotherby head office. You will be tasked with the service, maintenance and installation of boilers and similar appliances. With most of our customers being in rural areas, the majority of the sites are not on mains gas; oil and LPG experience are therefore desirable. BATA has a fuel and LPG business selling in excess of 50 million litres per year. As a result of this, we have a requirement for our engineers to assist in the installation of tanks and associated equipment for both oil and LPG.
Job Tasks - Heating Services Engineer:
- Process improvements and customer liaison.
- Monitoring common faults or errors with the products.
- Warranty claims and resolving any installation problems.
- Service appliances.
- All associated documentation to be completed with care and ensure that it is completed correctly.
- Assist with Oil Tank and Boiler installations.
- Keeping Company vehicles clean and tidy (inside and out).
- Responsible for dealing with customers ensuring excellent customer service at all times.
- As skill levels increase, be involved on a rota basis with Stand By / On Call cover over the weekend and early evenings.
- Responsible for attending training as required.
- Perform any tasks agreed by the Fuel Manager outside the usual day to day responsibilities.
- Adherence to safe working practices and Health and Safety instructions.
- To check with the Technical Manager for what action(s) are required for any feed safety incidents.
- In addition to the above, the post holder may be expected to carry out other duties and projects as required by BATA as and when necessary.
Ideally you will have the following qualifications and experience:
- OFT101, CCN1, CENWAT
- Experience with LPG would be an advantage.
