Hours of work: 37.5 per week, 8.30am-5pm Monday to Friday

About us: BATA was established as a farmers' cooperative in 1894 at Brandsby, North Yorkshire, 10 miles north of York. Today we are still an agricultural supply cooperative with 4,000 share members. We offer a wide range of products, including bulk and bagged animal feeds, pet foods, heating oil, LPG, timber, fencing, horse rugs, seeds or fertiliser, to name just a few.
Job Purpose: We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Procurement Manager to work in our head office at Amotherby. In this role you will be responsible for the spend on a wide range of projects, from capital projects in property and maintenance, to stationery and office supplies. This role will need an individual who is self-motivated, commercially focused, confident to create and present a business case, and capable of building and maintaining relationships right across the business. Candidates must have previous procurement experience and be willing to work full time in the Amotherby office.
Job Tasks:
- Analyse existing spend across the business and be able to categorise that spend into meaningful insight
- Develop tools to manage and measure spend effectively
- Effectively categorise spend and the supplier base and be able to create category strategies that drive behavioural change
- Be responsible for full end to end sourcing and management of suppliers across all addressable spend
- Identify key stakeholders across the business and work collaboratively at a high level to set spend strategy
- Accurately project savings and spend mitigation across the business
- Work closely with the raw materials procurement team to project pricing trends in key spend areas
- Negotiate and record valuable agreements with suppliers that deliver value across product lifecycles
- Manage the writing and review of contracts upon reaching agreements with suppliers
- Develop a contract management system usable across the business
- Present findings and strategy to the senior leadership team and work in a positive and professional manner in all interactions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience of working in utilities procurement is preferable though not necessary.
- CIPS qualifications are desirable
- Must have proven track record of creating savings in a Procurement role covering a high level of spend
Salary: Up to £47,000 per annum
