British American Tobacco UK is looking for a passionate, experienced and highly motivated Area Manager to join our Trade team, based in North East England & South Scotland.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- The Area Manager is the sole Multicategory Sales Area Custodian, owning the full strategy and deployment at area level and serving as the primary role responsible for the quality execution of all trade and brand plans within the designated area, covering vaping, nicotine pouches, and FMC.
- Analyze market data (Brand, TMD, Nielsen) to identify supply chain gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct daily control of BAT volume, market volume, and New Product Introductions (NPIs) in the area to identify new opportunities or improvement areas.
- Implement TM&D practices at POS through effective merchandising, visibility, communication, and stock management.
- Drive and ensure the quality execution of all Brand & Trade programs or activities within the assigned area.
- Lead a trade marketing team of 11 Territory Managers through coaching, motivation, and performance development to outperform competitors.
- Plan and execute area trade strategies to meet brand, volume, and profit targets while optimizing budget and resources.
- Foster innovation and leadership by developing team talent, setting differentiated targets, and creating a change-driven culture.
What are we looking for?
- University degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Advanced MS Office user with strong digital literacy.
- 2–3 years of FMCG experience in a trade channel or account management role.
- Proven sales experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective relationship builder with leadership, influencing, and interpersonal strengths.
