About the Role

As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers to deliver engaging, creative, and personalised learning experiences that meet the individual needs of our pupils. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will work flexibly across the school, including:

  • Supporting pupils one-to-one and in small groups
  • Leading whole-class lessons when required
  • Helping pupils build confidence, independence, and a love of learning

You will develop strong, positive relationships with pupils, encouraging engagement, interaction, and emotional regulation while supporting effective behaviour management strategies. A proactive, calm, and resilient approach is key to helping pupils feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. You will also play an important role in maintaining a strong safeguarding culture, ensuring pupils’ wellbeing is always a priority.

As part of a collaborative and supportive education team, your contribution will be genuinely valued, and you will be encouraged and supported in your ongoing professional development.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has achieved Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) status
  • Has experience working within an SEN/ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) setting
  • Is calm, confident, and resilient in the face of challenges
  • Can work independently and collaboratively as part of a wider education team
  • Is confident leading lessons or small groups when required
  • Is committed to empowering every pupil to reach their full potential

Qualifications Required:

  • English and Maths GCSE (essential)
  • HLTA qualification (desirable)
