We're looking for an experienced and motivated Joiner to join our Repairs and Maintenance team, helping to keep our homes safe, secure and well maintained for our tenants. This is a hands-on role where your skills will make a real difference to the lives of local people every day.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll carry out a wide range of joinery repairs, maintenance and improvement works across Council housing properties, including:
- Installing, repairing and replacing doors, windows, kitchens, flooring and timber fixtures.
- Maintaining fencing, gates, sheds and other external timber structures.
- Diagnosing faults and identifying practical, cost-effective repair solutions.
- Carrying out roofing repairs where appropriately trained.
- Managing your own workload and planning daily tasks efficiently.
- Using handheld technology to record work and maintain accurate records.
- Sharing your knowledge by supporting apprentices and colleagues.
- Taking part in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota.
You'll work closely with tenants, colleagues and contractors, providing a professional, friendly service while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship, health and safety, and customer care.

Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 in Joinery (or an equivalent recognised trade qualification).
- Proven experience carrying out joinery repairs, maintenance and installation work
- Experience fitting and repairing doors, windows, kitchens, flooring, fencing and other timber structures.
- Ability to diagnose defects and identify effective repair solutions.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements and safe working practices.
- Ability to accurately interpret measurements, work instructions and job documentation.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to drive a Council vehicle.
