Fixed-term appointment of 6 months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. Are you passionate about delivering high-quality, efficient waste and recycling services that make a real difference to local communities? Bassetlaw District Council is looking for an experienced and motivated Waste Management Services Manager to lead the delivery and continuous improvement of our waste, recycling, street cleansing and fleet & transport service across the district.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational delivery and strategic direction across all aspects of waste, recycling, street cleansing and fleet & transport services.
- Ensure statutory obligations are met, promote innovation, efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Support the Council’s ambitions around sustainability and carbon reduction.
- Lead a large multi-disciplinary workforce with strong health and safety and performance management standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to shape the future of waste management in Bassetlaw.
Qualifications and requirements
- Strong legislative knowledge.

- Experience of managing high-value budgets.
- Experience in health and safety leadership and performance management.
