We are seeking a proactive Compliance Officer to join our Housing Service team and lead on building compliance across our Housing property portfolio. You will be responsible for ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance through inspections, audits and assurance activity. Working closely with Compliance, Property and Development and Repairs and Maintenance Managers, you will help plan and monitor compliance maintenance, provide expert advice, and promote a strong health and safety culture across the service.
Key Duties
- Lead building inspections and compliance audits
- Monitor legislative changes and complete risk assessments
- Provide expert compliance and health & safety advice
- Deliver compliance training, toolbox talks and inductions
- Maintain Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)
- Use compliance systems and data (e.g., CIVICA CX & Riskhub) to support audits and reporting
- Contribute to policy and procedural development
Essential Qualifications
- NEBOSH Certificate/Diploma (or equivalent)
- Experience in compliance, auditing or regulatory roles (including CDM, asbestos and water quality)
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and building compliance
- Experience delivering training and leading audits
- Excellent communication, analytical and reporting skills
Desirable Qualifications
- NEBOSH / IOSH qualifications
- Local authority or public sector experience
- Experience delivering cultural or transformational change
