Are you a highly organised team player with strong administrative skills and a passion for supporting economic development? We\’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Administration Support Assistant to join our Growth and Enterprise Team on a fixed-term 12-month basis.
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You’ll support a busy and committed team delivering key growth and enterprise projects for the district.
Your responsibilities will include:
Acting as the first point of contact for enquiries, providing excellent customer service
Delivering day-to-day administration support including diary management, meeting support, document preparation and mail handling
Managing the department\’s electronic filing system and maintaining accurate records
Assisting with procurement and finance tasks, including raising requisitions and tracking invoices
Supporting the preparation of tenders, contracts, funding applications and grant claims
Helping to organise and support meetings, consultations and events
Monitoring budget information and compiling reports
You will need:
Essential (Priority 1) Requirements:
GCSEs in English and Maths (Grades 4–9 / C or above) or equivalent
Solid experience in a fast-paced administrative setting
Strong IT skills, especially in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Proven ability to manage diaries, provide secretariat support and maintain electronic filing systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively across teams and with external partners
Confidence in handling procurement processes and tracking budgets
A full driving licence
A proactive, adaptable and team-focused approach
