We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at a wonderful coastal location. You will be instrumental in leading shifts and helping the management team in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. You will use your skills to produce outstanding food and maintain excellent food safety and hygiene standards.

The key deliveries for this role are:

  • Preparation, cooking and serving of food to a high standard.
  • Assisting the Senior Team with stock control, ordering and wastage management ensuring the business is set to succeed for the next day.
  • High quality customer service to deliver an exceptional brand experience for all visitors and to ensure that you set an example for the rest of the team.
  • Excellent product knowledge of own goods as well as Cornish goods and ensuring that you promote these when designing menus with the Executive Chef.
  • Implement daily specials from design, costing and delivery.
  • Communicate and liaise with suppliers, guests and contractors as required.
  • Ensuring that cleaning and housekeeping duties, including scheduled deep cleans are being carried out to Healeys standards.
  • Implementation and understanding of Safer Food Better Business.
  • Communicate efficiently with Front of House to ensure smooth delivery of operations for guests.
  • Become an expert on procedures for Health & Safety and Food Safety.
  • Train and develop junior staff.
  • Flexible to work evenings and weekends.
  • To be open to completing tasks that may fall outside of your role or remit with a positive, sleeves rolled up mentality.

Previous experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years experience working in a busy hospitality environment.
  • Proven experience at a similar level.
  • A passion for the drinks and hospitality experience.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery (desirable).
  • Current Food hygiene Certificate.
