About the Role

As a Qualitative Research Executive (RE) at Basis Global, you are an essential part of our qualitative research practice. With at least nine months of qual research experience already under your belt, you understand the full qual research lifecycle and are ready to take real ownership of tasks across it. You support project teams to deliver brilliant work, run your own non‑viewed depth interviews with confidence, and absorb everything you can from the senior researchers around you. This is the role where you take the leap from learning the basics to becoming a trusted, independent contributor.

What You'll Do

  • Research & Analysis
    • Contribute to the design of qualitative research approaches — drafting discussion guides, screeners, and recruitment briefs — with guidance from senior researchers
    • Run non‑viewed depth interviews independently and confidently — building rapport, probing thoughtfully, and capturing the nuances that matter
    • Support analysis of qualitative data — spotting patterns, pulling out telling quotes, and helping shape early hypotheses with senior team input
    • Build clear, well‑crafted slides and summary sections under the direction of project leads — growing your storytelling craft with each project
    • Contributing to client meetings and debriefs — presenting your own sections clearly and starting to find your voice in the room
  • Client Management
    • Support day‑to‑day client communication — drafting clear, professional updates and responding promptly under the guidance of project leads
    • Take ownership of note taking and action points coming out of client meetings, following through reliably and keeping the team informed
    • Show up to client interactions warm, prepared, and curious — representing Basis well and starting to build your own client relationships
  • Project Delivery
    • Provide support across the qual research lifecycle — from setup and recruitment liaison through fieldwork, analysis, and reporting
    • Juggle several projects at once, keeping a calm head, staying organised, and flagging timeline or quality issues early
    • Liaise with recruiters and suppliers to keep fieldwork on track, building an early understanding of how external costs affect project delivery
    • Bring a proactive, problem‑solving mindset — spotting things that need doing and stepping in without waiting to be asked
  • Team & Development
    • Take ownership of your own development — seeking feedback, acting on it, and building skills across every stage of the qual research lifecycle
    • Bring a positive, collaborative attitude across every project and team interaction — the kind of person colleagues are pleased to be staffed with
    • Stay curious about the craft — learning from every project, asking good questions, and sharing useful ideas with the wider team

Skills & Experience

  • At least 9 months’ experience in qualitative research, ideally within a research agency
  • A working knowledge of the full qual research lifecycle — from research design and recruitment through fieldwork, analysis, and reporting
  • Demonstrable experience running non‑viewed depth interviews independently — comfortable holding the room, listening carefully, and probing well
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — an emerging eye for analysis and storytelling, and care taken over the quality of every output
  • Comfortable in client‑facing settings — warm, professional, and able to support day‑to‑day client communication with guidance
  • A foundational understanding of research design and project setup, with appetite to learn more about the commercial side of agency life
  • Organised and reliable across multiple projects, with the ability to prioritise sensibly and ask for help when needed
  • A collaborative team player — warm, generous, and a positive presence on every project
