Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council are recruiting a Streetscene Operative to “Make a Difference” in the local area. This role will focus on delivering a range of Street Cleansing and Grounds Maintenance services - based on local council priorities. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys working with people and providing excellent services to enhance local environments. Our aim being to make Basingstoke a better place to live and work.

You will play a key part in providing these services, ensuring work targets are achieved, efficiently and effectively. Ideally, we are looking for applicants that have experience working in a similar field, but also show a willingness to learn new skills to become experienced in operational maintenance. Applicants must be reliable and demonstrate the core qualities required to work in a front line service role. You’ll need to be highly motivated, demonstrate a good aptitude for tasks undertaken, and pay attention to detail. It is important you are organised, have good communication skills, and are able to take direction whilst having a proactive and flexible approach to work.

Key Requirements
  • Demonstrate good communication and customer care skills.

You will be based at the Wade Road offices and adapt to working from other council premises when required.
