An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time tractor driver. The successful candidate will be part of a team of 3, carrying out various tractor duties supporting both grounds maintenance and street cleansing functions within the Operational department based at Wade Road.
Responsibilities include operating as part of a team carrying out duties such as Trimax grass cutting, flail hedge cutting, green waste collection and fly tip removal. These works include areas such as parks, open spaces, and other publicly accessible areas across the borough. The role involves all aspects of grounds maintenance work with more of a focus on operations using the tractor and multiple implements, including side arm flail hedge cutting in accordance with quality standards, work instructions and specifications within Grounds Maintenance Management Plans.
Skills and Competencies Required:
- Experienced tractor driver with medium to large tractors and implements, experience in hedge trimming, verge cutting and mowing;
- Highly motivated individual who is well-organised and able to take direction;
- Strong teamwork skills;
- Keen attention to detail;
- Proactive with a flexible approach to work;
- Full UK driving licence to include the CE (HGV) entitlement and category. CPC desirable although not essential.
