Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council are recruiting a Team Leader to "Make a Difference". This role will focus on delivering services based on the local council priorities. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys working with people, demonstrating good leadership and inspiring others to go that extra mile. You will play a key part in ensuring the daily operational services run efficiently and effectively to deliver a real improvement to local communities within the borough.

We are looking for a reliable person that can demonstrate the core values but also a ‘can do’ attitude and a commitment to working safely by leading from the front. You'll need to be highly motivated, pay attention to detail, support and manage a small team to meet the challenges of a frontline service. It is important you are organised, demonstrate good communication at all levels, able to take direction whilst having a proactive and flexible approach to work.

Key Requirements:
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of diverse backgrounds to work effectively to a schedule of works.
  • Able to support team members and provide training when required.
  • Able to work safely within guidance and legislation.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Demonstrate good communication at all levels.
  • Hold a full clean driving licence.
  • Disability Confident.

You will be based at the Wade Road office but you will need to adapt to working from any other council premises when required. We welcome applications from existing Street Cleansing and Grounds Maintenance Operatives as well as external candidates.
