Position Overview
The Council holds an established property investment and operational portfolio principally comprising industrial, office and retail assets, and some other miscellaneous assets, valued in excess of £300m producing an annual rental income of more than £19m. Rental income is a major contributor to the financial sustainability of the Council and the income received significantly exceeds that generated through the collection of Council Tax. Following a reorganisation and recognising the important role Facilities Management plays within the buildings occupied by BDBC staff we are looking to recruit two Facilities Management Officers within the Facilities Management team.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Facilities Management Team Leader to ensure the buildings are fit for purpose for staff, customers, members and tenants to work and visit
  • Monitor and work with contractors to ensure any works carried out effectively and in compliance with all necessary legislation
  • Work with Security contractors to keep campus safe and secure
  • Carry out caretaking duties
  • Work out of hours rota, standby and call out as required

Remuneration
The salary will be between £32,727 and £33,933 (Grade D) depending on level of experience. Please note that part of the post requires taking part in a standby and call out rota and will be remunerated accordingly.
