We are offering an opportunity for someone to share their experience and gain invaluable learning as we create a new, state of the art website. Our small charity needs to advertise its services (Counselling, Helpline, Wellbeing activities) via our website, together with our social media activities. These enable us to help as many local people as possible with their mental health. As a volunteer who spends quality time focusing on our website, you will help ensure we continue to help as many local people as possible. Additionally, this is a unique, significant opportunity for the volunteer to learn how a new website is created, tested and launched.

What are we looking for?

  • Familiarity with WordPress or similar website content management system.
  • Experience of managing a small IT migration project, preferably website migration.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including clients, colleagues, Managers, Trustees, the general public and other stakeholders.
  • A strong team working ethos.
  • An understanding of mental health would be advantageous, but is not mandatory.

What will you be doing?

  • Communicate with our current and new website providers.
  • Map our current website.
  • Creation of a 3-6-month project plan.
  • Test the new website (using AI as appropriate).
  • Launch the new website.
  • Liaise with the Basildon Mind service departments and become familiar with the work of Basildon Mind, its Staff, Services, and Clients.
  • Maintain the Basildon Mind Website by regularly posting updates provided by our team.
