We are offering an opportunity for someone to gain and use their experience as a Health, Safety and Fire Specialist to help ensure our compliance with Legislation and our Policies and Procedures.

This model enables us to help as many local people as possible with their mental health.
As a volunteer who spends quality time focusing on Health, Safety and Fire you will help ensure we continue to help as many local people as possible in a safe manner.
What are we looking for?
- To be successful you should be an experienced Health and Safety / Fire practitioner.
- You should be familiar with applying legislation and best practice to practical situations.
- You should have experience of conducting Health, Safety and Fire audits and drills and ensuring and actions identified are completed.
- You must have good communication and interpersonal skills and able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including Volunteers, Staff, Managers, Trustees and other stakeholders.
- You should have a strong team working ethos.
What will you be doing?
- Become familiar with the Basildon Mind buildings and facilities and their Health, Safety and Fire requirements
- Assisting the Basildon Mind staff and volunteers in ensuring healthy and safe practices at all times
- Carry out twice-yearly Health and Safety audits and Fire drills
- Own, review and update Health, Safety and Fire Risk Assessments
- Be aware of current and new Health, Safety and Fire Risk legislation and best practices and update Basildon Mind’s Policies, Procedures and practices accordingly
