The Building Consultancy Service provides an in-house agency for the provision of Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs) to provide home adaptations for people with disabilities to enable them to remain living in their own homes as independently as possible and for as long as possible. The team receives approximately 250 new enquiries each year and has an annual budget of approximately Β£1.7 million.
The successful candidate will be required to survey homes, inspect work for quality control and assist in processing payments to contractors on completion of work.

We are seeking an empathetic, organised and technically minded team player to join or Disabled Facilities Grants team. You will have some knowledge of DFGs with the practical ability to carry out on-site room measurands, appraise digital plans and draft accurate schemes designs. A clear communicator who is able to handle multiple case loads at one time and shows genuine compassion and professionalism when supporting residents through the DFG process. You must be able to travel independently across the borough to conduct site visits.
A Basic DBS clearance is required for this role.
