Solutions: Vision & Mission At BASF plc's Widnes site, our Centre of Excellence for Pest Control, we take pride in manufacturing and packing high-quality rodenticides.
The site was acquired from Sorex Limited at the end of 2008.
The new business, launched in 2009, combined the renowned technical expertise, products, and skills of both BASF and Sorex, creating a powerhouse in pest control solutions.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECTOwn and coordinate all site facilities, services and utilities, ensuring safe, compliant and reliable day‑to‑day operations in line with BASF standards and legal/statutory requirements, with full audit readiness at all times.
Oversee the maintenance and integrity of buildings and utilities infrastructure (e. g. electrical, HVAC, water, compressed air), planning and assuring inspections, preventative maintenance and upgrades through competent external contractors.
Lead and manage external service providers and contracts (e. g. cleaning, grounds, mobile equipment, inspections), ensuring service quality, SLA compliance, cost control and effective issue resolution.
Maintain robust compliance and governance controls, ensuring all inspections, certificates, service reports, RAMS, insurances and close‑out documentation are accurate, traceable, CMMS‑managed and approved before work commences.
Support site engineering and infrastructure projects, collaborating with maintenance and engineering teams on utilities planning, improvement works and breakdown response, providing practical technical coordination while minimising operational disruption.
WHAT YOU OFFERMinimum of NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a technical discipline, e. g.
Electrical, Mechanical, Utilities Management, or a related field.
Proven experience managing site services, utilities, and contractors within a DSEAR/ATEX, process‑safety‑led manufacturing environment, with strong compliance awareness.
Demonstrable capability in EHS and contractor management, including PTW processes, RAMS review, and contractor insurance and policy compliance, operating to audit‑ready standards.
Highly organised with strong planning and scheduling skills, ensuring statutory inspections and routine site services are delivered reliably and on time.
Confident communicator with experience managing service level agreements, coordinating internal stakeholders and external service providers, and tracking performance.
Competent user of Microsoft Office, maintenance management software and SAP, with a solid mechanical/electrical understanding; hands‑on maintenance experience is advantageous for troubleshooting and operational support.
