Are you a hands-on engineer who thrives on fixing problems, improving reliability, and keeping operations running safely and efficiently? We’re looking for a Maintenance & Equipment Reliability Engineer to take ownership of site equipment performance—combining practical fault-finding with long-term reliability and process safety leadership.
What you’ll be doing:
- Diagnose & fix faults – get hands-on with electrical and mechanical issues to keep moving
- Drive reliability – plan and deliver preventative maintenance to maximise uptime
- Improve performance – identify trends, reduce downtime, and support continuous improvement
- Own process safety – manage P&IDs, risk controls, and support safe change (MOC)
- Lead maintenance standards – oversee contractors, permits, and safe systems of work
- Manage assets & fleet – including fork trucks, cranes, and MEWPs
- Control critical spares – ensuring the right parts are available when needed
- Be the go-to expert – provide technical support during out-of-hours escalations
What we’re looking for:
You’ll be a practical, safety-focused engineer who enjoys solving problems and improving systems:
- Essential:
- Level 3 qualification in Electrotechnical (or similar)
- 18th Edition (BS7671) & Inspection & Testing (2391-52)
- Strong electrical fault-finding and safe isolation (LOTO) experience
- Mechanical fault diagnosis and repair capability
- Experience in manufacturing/production environments
- Ability to read electrical drawings, P&IDs, and technical documents
- Experience with permits and safe systems of work
- Desirable:
- Process safety knowledge or COMAH-style environments
- Experience with CMMS / SAP or maintenance planning tools
- Exposure to automation, PLCs, or instrumentation
- LOLER, IPAF or machinery safety knowledge
- Experience with contractors, MOC, or operational projects
