WELCOME TO BASF. BASF Pharma Callanish Ltd based on the Isle of Lewis, in the Western Isles of Scotland, is a global leader manufacturing highly-concentrated omega-3 fatty acids for pharmaceutical, clinical nutrition and general nutrition applications. The Maintenance Support Engineer will be responsible for providing high quality engineering support for safe operations and minimising unplanned losses for the highest levels of plant effectiveness.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Planning work packages, executing small projects and associated administration, management of process and safety improvement projects.
- Coordinate Engineering activities within the Quality Management System (QMS) to maintain Good Manufacturing Practice; including all related documentation and investigation of root cause, defining appropriate corrective actions.
- Manage contractors during plant turnarounds to agreed timescale.
- Deputising for the Maintenance Engineering Manager when required.
- Manage the procurement of engineering spares; including identifying obsolescence, specifying optimal stock levels.
WHAT YOU OFFER
- A degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or alternative experience in a similar environment is desirable.
- Operational experience in relevant industry, ideally Pharmaceutical or Food Production in an Engineering support role.
- Confident with computer packages such as Microsoft.
