Responsibilities for the Multi-Skilled Craftsperson – Electrical
- To work as a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, across all trades and carrying out any duties where competence has been demonstrated, to maintain plant and equipment such that production delays and maintenance costs are minimised and plant availability is maximised.
- Ensure that all work activities are carried out in accordance with BASF Responsible Care Management System and all relevant statutory regulations and engineering standards.
- Conduct mechanical and electrical planned maintenance overhauls, routine maintenance schedules and inspections across all assigned plant areas to ensure that site services and production machinery is maintained and serviced to the correct standards at appropriate intervals.
- Detect, report, and repair faults in machinery in all plant areas to eliminate or minimise production downtime. Order, where necessary, correct equipment and spares to ensure that this can be achieved.
- Contribute to planning and organization of all tasks by employing timely clear and concise communication with Production, Engineering and Contractor resources. Also, to arrange, where necessary, tools and materials to complete tasks.
- Contribute to reviews of plant performance and contribute ideas for improvements to maximise operational efficiency and minimise costs. Participate in EHS Risk Assessments.
Qualifications / Skills needed for the Multi-Skilled Craftsperson – Electrical
- HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
- Completed maintenance apprenticeship
- Atex Electrician qualification preferred although training will be provided for suitable candidate
- Post apprenticeship experience in Good Manufacturing Practice manufacturing facility or similar Manufacturing/Engineering environment preferred
- Computer literacy (SAP, Office)
- Ability to work independently and drive tasks to completion within a team environment
Location: Breasclete, Isle of Lewis, Scotland
Salary: £35,000 - £39,000 depending on experience plus disturbance allowance.
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am – 4pm plus on call support. Flexible working considered.
