Duty Manager

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Duty Manager to join our team. This is a crucial role for someone who thrives in a busy, varied environment, where no two days are the same. As Duty Manager, you will lead an energetic team by example, uphold the high standards that Blackfriars is known for, and foster great relationships with our guests., * Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service throughout the venue.

• Lead and motivate the front-of-house team, setting a positive example and ensuring high performance.

• Ensure exceptional customer service, building strong relationships with our regulars and first-time guests alike.

• Manage a busy bar area, ensuring the smooth running of shifts, including stock control and cash handling.

• Take responsibility for events in The Basement at Blackfriars, coordinating with performers, guests, and staff to ensure seamless execution.

• Uphold venue standards and maintain compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.

• Assist with staff training and development, fostering a team-focused, high-energy environment.

• Problem-solve on the spot, handling guest queries or issues with a calm and professional approach.

• Proven experience in a management role within a busy pub, bar, or events venue.

• Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment, maintaining standards under pressure.

• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

• Passion for creating memorable guest experiences and building customer relationships.

• Knowledge and appreciation of craft beers, ales, whiskies, and bourbons.

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required., * Bar management: 1 year (required)
