Opening in early 2026, Base71 Youth Zone is an ambitious new £10 million facility designed to transform the lives of young people in Barnsley. Open seven days a week, it will offer a wide range of high-quality, inspiring activities in a safe, welcoming, and purpose-built environment.

The Opportunity
As a Sessional Youth Worker in Music, you will play a vital part in the coaching and teaching of music to young people. You will be involved in teaching the fundamentals of range of music activities such as; playing instruments, music production and vocal coaching. Enabling young people to explore their creativity and grow their skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and deliver a high-quality programme of activity that is exciting, safe, varied, innovative, developmental and directly responds to the diverse needs, concerns and interests of members.
• Be a role model to young people, fostering an environment where they feel confident and welcome.
• Encourage attendance and participation in activities, particularly by young people who do not usually participate in art.
About You:
We are looking for a candidate with:
• Experience of delivering music and creative media activities to young people
• Experience in working with young people aged 8 to 19, or 25 with additional needs
