We are looking for a proactive, organised, and collaborative HSE Officer to join our team at our Whetstone site in Leicester. What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be the driving force behind our site's health and safety culture, embedding safe systems, supporting compliance, and partnering with teams across the business to make our workplace safer, smarter, and stronger. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying hazards, conducting risk assessments, and implementing control measures
  • Ensuring compliance with key HSE regulations (H&S at Work Act, COSHH, RIDDOR etc.)
  • Leading safety inductions for new starters and ongoing training for the wider team
  • Organising fire drills, inspections, and emergency procedures
  • Investigating incidents, near misses, and root causes, then driving improvement
  • Supporting safe disposal of hazardous substances and PPE management
  • Reporting weekly KPI updates to the leadership team
  • Delivering H&S toolbox talks and leading awareness sessions across the business
  • Staying ahead of the curve with up-to-date legislation and industry best practices

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Previous Manufacturing Plant Experience
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualified (or working towards)
  • Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and people skills

Desirable:

  • 3+ years in a H&S role (ideally in FMCG or chemical manufacturing)
  • Exposure to ISO9001 / ISO14001 / ISO45001
  • Membership of IOSH or IIRM
  • Relevant HND qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, etc.
